CI Australia shortlisted in PCA's Innovation & Excellence Awards

Wednesday 05 December 2018

CI Australia and Roads & Maritime Services have been jointly recognised as a finalist in the prestigious Property Council of Australia's (PCA) Innovation & Excellence Awards for 2019.

The nomination, which is for the 'Government Leadership' category, recognises the impressive upgrades to Sydney's Elizabeth Bay Marina. Officially completed in 2018, the innovation of the new design and successful delivery of this complex project were reflective of the integrated team approach between CI Australia (Property Manager), Roads and Maritime (The Owner and Developer), and APP Corporation (Project Managers).

The planning and design of the Marina was focussed on providing a facility that would meet the needs of the boating community in two respects – for a safe and highly functional facility; and one that reduced the impact on the environment. The latter was well considered and applied in a number of ways, including through the reuse of timber, solar panels, rainwater use for unisex amenities, as well as procurement of environmentally friendly products to protect the marine environment. This saw it achieve a NABERS rating of 4+. The final design of the Marina followed extensive community consultation and feedback that was well received by both boating and non-boating community members, as well as key other key industry stakeholders.

The now future-proofed marina is a leading example for other commercial marinas in Sydney Harbour, as well as around the State in terms of environmental and sustainable design. Positive community feedback continues to be received, evidencing the successful design and delivery of a project that not only meets the needs, but nurtures, the lifestyle and values of its local community.

This exciting nomination follows CI Australia being shortlisted for 'Commercial Agency - Large' in the Real Estate Institute of NSW (REINSW) Awards for Excellence earlier this year; a category which we have been recognised in for the previous three consecutive years, including winning the coveted award in 2017, reflecting our ongoing success and growth.

You can learn more about Elizabeth Bay Marina here, including its win as the Best Public Building up to $7 million at the Master Builders Association Awards in November 2018. The PCA Innovation & Excellence Award Winners will be announced at the Gala Dinner being held on Friday 17 May 2019 at ICC Sydney.
